DAN YOUMANS

Dan Youmans is the Founder of Dan & Company Studios, Dan was considered across the nation to be a master of Musical Comedy. A native Atlantan and graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Youmans began his career as a young dancer with Six Flags, and Theatre of the Stars. After touring the country with numerous musicals, including “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Hello Dolly”, “Music Man”, “Cabaret”, and “Man of La Mancha”, Dan returned to Atlanta to establish Dan & Company Studios and the Atlanta Jazz Theatre Dance Company. For 40+ years,  while directing the Studio and the Dance Company, Mr. Youmans also staged and choreographed numerous musical events, including television and arena, throughout the Southeast. He was lead Choreographer for the Closing Ceremonies for the Paralympics in 1992 in Barcelona, Spain, and for the Atlanta Paralympics in 1996. Dan has also created choreography for the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Mt. Paran North, and has served as Director of Sacred Dance for the new Performing Arts Academy of the Salvation Army in Suwannee, Ga. Dan's legacy lives on through our dancers as we continue his vision here at Dan & Company.

TINA YOUMANS HIDALGO

Tina Youmans Hidalgo -Artistic Director/Owner of Dan & Company Studios

 Tina began her training in Atlanta with Dan and Company Studios. She performed with our Atlanta Jazz Theatre company for 10 years. She also spent a year as a company member of International Ballet Rotaru, training in classical ballet. While in Atlanta, she danced in numerous industrial shows, fashion shows, and as a dancer in the Miss Georgia Pageant. She began teaching and choreographing around the Southeast by the age of 17, and teaching and judging for Dance Masters of America at age 18.

Tina performed at Walt Disney World as a full time cast member and Equity performer for three years where she was a featured Explosion Dancer at “Pleasure Island” at Downtown Disney. Tina began work as a choreographer and assistant choreographer for many National industrial shows and performances, including Karastan, Headdress Ball, and Disney Conventions. Since returning to Atlanta, she continues teaching at Dan and Company and focuses on choreography, most recently for Walt Disney World Audition tour and the Disney/Spelman Theatre project for the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Along with running the studio, Tina also manages our Atlanta Jazz Theatre performing company, where her primary focus is it’s dancers, choreographers, concerts, competitions, and future.

KATRINA LONCARIC

Katrina Loncaric- Assistant Director-Dan & Co./ Office Manager/ Faculty 

Katrina grew up and trained with both Dan & Company and Atlanta Jazz Theatre, and has since been blessed with sharing her dancing and singing talents all around the world.  Most notably, Katrina was in the Broadway production of the Mel Brooks musical The Producers, where she not only danced in the Ensemble, but also performed as the Understudy to the female lead, Ulla.

In addition to Broadway, she performed in the Las Vegas production of The Producers sharing the stage with Tony Danza and David Hasselhoff, and most recently with Atlanta’s Theatre of the Stars production at The Fabulous Fox.  Katrina was a Feature Singer and Showgirl in the long running Las Vegas spectacular, Don Arden’s Jublilee!  She has been seen around the world traveling as a Cabaret Vocalist with Azamara Club Cruises where in addition to performing in the ship’s production shows, she regularly took the stage in her own “One-Woman Cabaret”.  Katrina holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and has studied and performed Improv and Sketch Comedy with The Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, Second City, and The Groundlings in New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.  She also has a long running voiceover career.  Some favorite musical regional credits include: A Chorus Line (Judy); Crazy For You (Irene); Damn Yankees (Lola);  and Hair (Jeannie).  When Katrina is not teaching the future stars of tomorrow, she is spending time with her own little star, James.

KENNETH GREEN

Kenneth's creative and artistry for producing eye-popping, heart-stopping theatrical presentations has earned him the opportunity to work with renowned artists such as Diahann Carroll, Chita Rivera, Peabo Bryson and Eartha Kitt for Walt Disney Creative Entertainment, Stevie Wonder with the Atlanta Symphony and Congressman John Lewis 75th Birthday Celebration hosted by Alfree Woodard. 

He has appeared with Donny and Marie Osmond, choreographed for Vanessa Williams and Target Stores.He served as the television choreographer for the Walt Disney World’s Easter Parade Special and served as casting director for Walt Disney World entertainment. He has choreographed for major industrials like Kodak, Head Sports Wear, Adidas, and Wendy’s.  At Spelman College, he served as Director of Cultural Initiatives in the Office of College Relations. He has directed half-time productions for the Atlanta Falcons and productions for Six Flags over Georgia. Kenneth has a B.F.A. in Musical Theater Dance from the United States International University and an M.A. in Dance from California State University at Long Beach.

EMILY GLASS

A resident of Atlanta her entire life, Emily Glass started at Dan&Co as a toddler. She spent 9 years in the Atlanta Jazz Theatre performing company before graduating from Walton High School in 2013. Glass attended Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, where she studied music education and dance pedagogy. During her time as a student, Glass was heavily involved in the performing arts. She was involved with many choral productions and concert tours through the university, and participated in GC’s The Nutcracker for 3 years as a featured soloist. Additionally, Glass was heavily involved in the theatre department, where she was cast in shows such as Chicago, Rocky Horror, and Cabaret. Glass was also chosen as assistant choreographer for Cabaret in 2018. While this is Glass’s 3rd year teaching, this is her first year back at Dan&Co, and she’s very excited to be returning to the place where her love of the stage began! 

AMBER RUNYAN

Amber Runyan received her professional training on scholarship from Pacific Northwest Ballet School where she had the opportunity to perform in the world premiere of Bruce Wells “Pinocchio” as well as “The Nutcracker”. She then attended the Graduate Program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre before accepting a Traineeship with North Carolina Dance Theatre. During her time there she had the privilege to work closely with Patricia McBride and performed in productions of “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”, and “Serenade”, in addition to other new works.

Amber returned to her home state to dance professionally with The Georgia Ballet where she has been able to enhance her artistry by working with various choreographers in classical and contemporary styles. She is happy to return to the Atlanta area to share her love of dance with the next generation. Amber is currently Ballet Mistress of Dan and Company Studios

BRE STERLING

Bre Sterling was born and raised in Washington D.C. She is an alum of Kennesaw State University, with a major in Dance (Modern Concentration). Bre’s formal training started at Black Experience Dance Troupe (B.E.D.T) in Washington D.C where she studied west african, modern (Graham and Horton technique), liturgical, tap and ballet. As she grew older she trained with Footsteps Dance Academy learning jazz, lyrical, and theater. She then moved to Georgia and trained with The Royal Dance Academy where she studied multiple dance disciplines including Hip Hop, modern (Horton technique) and the international ballet curriculum of the Royal Academy of Dance.

JENNIFER CHALK

Jennifer Chalk- Assistant Director -Atlanta Jazz Theatre Company

Jennifer is originally from Marietta GA. Jennifer attended the University of Alabama on a dance performance scholarship where she received the Excellence in Choreography Award. Jennifer holds her Bachelors of Dance and Kinesiology.

Her professional credits include working with and choreographing on our Atlanta Jazz Theatre company members, Carnival Cruise Lines, Training Internship at Steps on Broadway in New York and a Summer program at Walt Disney World. Jennifer has had the opportunity to work with many astute choreographers and has showcased her work for a number of years in the competition realm of dance. Her work has won panoply recognition as well as high honors at dance convocations. Jennifer is excited to be a part of the Dan & Company faculty!

HALEY JENKINS

Haley Jenkins is from Suwanee, GA and received the majority of her dance training at Susan Chambers School of Theatre Dance. Throughout her training, she trained with tap greats like Brenda Bufalino, Mike Minery, Mike Schulster, and countless others. She obtained a degree in Health Promotion and Behavior at the University of Georgia, specializing in injury prevention for dancers and continues to implement her specialty in all of her classes. Haley has been teaching and choreographing on and off for 8 years, and is currently sought after by many studios for her versatility and expertise in rhythm and broadway tap. Haley continues to work professionally in the dance and film industries and was recently cast in her first movie, Step Sisters, due to release December 2017. She also works continually with Gotta Dance Contemporary as a professional member under the direction of Rachel Truitt and AJ Paug, and is sought out by many other notable affiliations such as Stephan Reynolds, Element Acrobats, Kollaboration ATL, and many others. She is also one of the original cast members for the newly released, up and coming, tap show, Tap-A-Ce-Tic, where tap and rhythms are taken to new limits. She aspires to instill self confidence and self expression in all of her students while hopefully creating a new love and appreciation for tap and rhythms!

CHELSEA ROUSSEAU HENSON

Chelsea Rousseau Henson grew up in Marietta, GA and is a Dan & Co. Alumni! She also attended Atlanta Ballet and Graduated early from Pebblebrook High School for the Performing Arts as a dance major and vocal and drama minor. She went on to college at University of the Arts in Philadelphia and quickly signed with the Bloc Agency in New York City. After a short time in NYC, she was hired as an Actors Equity Performer at Walt Disney World where she performed in Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan Rocks, Christmas Parades and other televised events. During her time in Florida, Chelsea was also hired for many ‘gigs’ around the nation. She later became the Female Dance Captain for the inaugural cast of the Disney Fantasy where she worked with various professionals including Neil Patrick Harris and Spencer Liff of SYTYCD! After traveling the East/West Caribbean, she took her travels to Europe where she performed with Norwegian Cruise Lines as a dancer and aerialist. She has also been trained in and has taught Ballroom dance. Chelsea couldn’t be more excited to be back at Dan and Co. with a dance “family” that’s always stayed close to her heart!

ERIN CRONIN

Erin Cronin A native of Georgia, Erin began dancing at Rhythm Dance Center located in Marietta. From the age of five to eighteen, Erin trained in Rhythm’s Performing Company under the direction of Becca Moore and Dani Rosenberg. Her training spans the disciplines of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical and musical theatre. Around the age of 15, Erin also began training at Metropolitan Ballet Theatre where she studied classical ballet under the direction of Maniya Barredo. Her training included ballet, pointe, partnering, and modern. At 23 years old, Erin is currently studying Exercise Science at Georgia State University. This year Erin completed her 3rd season traveling with Chebar Williams as her ballet assistant for NUVO Dance Convention. Most recently, Erin signed with MSA south as a dancer and is excited to continue to pursue her professional career in dance.
